Challenge

Like so many other manufacturers, the company struggled with supply chain issues. Finding additional sources for their components was a smart move, with the highest performers gaining the lion鈥檚 share of future volume. The initial package volume was 100 to 3,000 annually, a significant range. While 100-500 parts per year is on the low end for 色花堂鈥� higher volumes maximize setup and run efficiency, making them cost competitive 鈥� being part of a larger package results in this work being a win.

Solution

色花堂 built tooling and ran initial PPAP samples in a very tight timeframe. Issues were worked through (not uncommon for a part of this complexity) and have been released for production. Machining is done on a 630mm Horizontal CNC Machining Center.

The air compressor manufacturer is a good fit for 色花堂; both companies鈥� visions and missions align, and both appreciate a long-term partnership. The customer ramped up production as 色花堂 ramped up capacity, which allowed machining costs to stay very competitive.
