Opportunities for Advancement
Some may overlook CNC precision machining jobs because they lack experience. However, many at 色花堂 started their careers armed with a mechanical aptitude and a knack for working with their hands.
Dave Rupp is a Tooling Procurement Specialist at 色花堂. 鈥淥ur engineers all started on the floor,鈥� he said. 鈥淭hat鈥檚 the big thing about 色花堂: the ability to move up the ranks. They鈥檙e willing to take chances on people they know have the skill and ability to do things.鈥�
鈥淚 got thrown a lot of opportunities and I took full advantage of all of them,鈥� said Brandon Fuller, CNC Operator. 鈥淭he further I advance myself and bring [others] up to another level; we鈥檙e all kind of reaching the ceiling together.鈥�
Dan Karbon, Continuous Improvement Engineer, agrees. 鈥淚f you come to work and do your job and show that, you鈥檙e going to advance in this company,鈥� he said.

Continuous Improvement & Training
Dylan Klein is a machine operator who began his career working the third shift. 鈥淚 wanted to come to the first shift,鈥� said Dylan. 鈥淪o they initiated more training so I [could] move on and move up as a machine operator. If [you] want to learn more, they will open up opportunities for you to learn.鈥�
Dan Karbon enjoys mentoring others on the team. 鈥淲e have a really good training program here,鈥� said Dan. 鈥淚t鈥檚 enjoyable for me to train someone new and to see them learn something, to see the lightbulb go on in their head.鈥�
鈥淭his career path is always evolving and so is this industry,鈥� added Brandon.
Fulfilling Work
Some envision a CNC machining career as one where they鈥檒l stand in front of a machine all day pressing buttons. This is far from the truth according to Brandon Fuller.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a great career in manufacturing,鈥� said Brandon. 鈥淚 like to move around, do different things, take on different challenges. You don鈥檛 do the same day twice. You learn something new one day and apply it the next.鈥�
Dylan echoes Brandon鈥檚 sentiments, stating, 鈥淚 really love math and science. It鈥檚 more hands-on and I鈥檓 using math. I鈥檓 learning more鈥 have to use more knowledge and not just press a button to get through the day and produce a part.鈥�
A Vibrant Culture
An advantage of being a family-owned business is the tight-knit community that鈥檚 formed among employees and leadership.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a growing company but it still has the small, machine shop culture to it. Everybody knows everybody,鈥� said Brandon. 鈥淎ny time we鈥檙e problem-solving, we鈥檙e all working together, not against each other.鈥�
Dan couldn鈥檛 agree more. 鈥淚 truly enjoy coming to work. It鈥檚 family-based,鈥� he said.
